Visit at MHAT Calicut

The 6th semester BSc Psychology students visited MHAT, Calicut, to gain exposure to its community-based mental health care approaches. Ms. Megha, Ms. Saheeba, and Ms. Farzana accompanied the students.The visit began with a warm welcome by Ms. Lakshmi Sivakumar, who introduced the trust’s mission of providing mental health care to underprivileged communities. Ms. Rinu Fathima, a psychologist at MHAT, gave an overview of the trust’s multidisciplinary care model, outreach programs, and the role of community involvement. Mr. Krishna Kumar elaborated on the policies and collaborative frameworks that ensure sustainable interventions for patients.The session concluded with an engaging activity led by Ms. Minha Nazer, where students participated in meditation and art therapy, gaining practical insights into creative therapeutic techniques.
