Community Theatre for Sustainability: Cheruthazham Panchayat Members Drama act on Waste Management at WIRAS

As part of a social awareness campaign on waste management, the Cheruthazham panchayat members and other dignitaries of the local panchayat staged an impactful drama at Wadihuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS College), Vilayancode, Kannur. The engaging performance effectively highlighted the importance of proper waste disposal, recycling, and active community participation in maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. Through compelling storytelling, the drama educated the audience about the harmful effects of improper waste management and underscored the vital role of local governance in promoting eco-friendly practices.

The participation of esteemed dignitaries in the performance added prestige to the event, making it a significant highlight of WIRAS College’s Arts Day celebrations. Following the drama, a meeting was held between the panchayat members and the college faculty, during which the principal reaffirmed the institution's commitment to environmental sustainability. He emphasized that WIRAS, which proudly holds the distinction of being the first Green Campus in Kannur District, will continue its eco-friendly initiatives and further encourage students to adopt a plastic-free lifestyle.
