WIRAS Signs MoU with Wildlife Trust of India on World Forest Day

Wadihuda Institute of Research and Advanced Studies (WIRAS) has signed an MoU with the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) to conserve and restore mangrove forests in Kannur District. The collaboration, launched on World Forest Day, aims to enhance biodiversity through conservation programs, research initiatives, and student-led plantation activities.

The agreement was formally inaugurated by Mr. Sajan John, Head of Marine Projects at WTI, with key addresses by WIRAS Principal Dr. Aboo Ishaque P K and WTI’s Kannur Kandal Project Head, Mr. Ramith M. The partnership will facilitate expert lectures, field visits, and hands-on conservation experiences for students.

This initiative reinforces WIRAS’s commitment to sustainability, fostering ecological restoration and research-driven learning.
