"Pattum Sahithyavum": A Remembrance Program and Discussion on P. Jayachandran, the Renowned Playback Singer of Kerala

The NDLI Club and the Literary Club of WIRAS collaboratively organized a remembrance program and discussion in honor of the legendary Malayalam singer P. Jayachandran, celebrating his invaluable contributions to music and society. The event, titled Pattum Sahithyavum, was held on Tuesday, 4th February 2025, at 2 PM in the Seminar Hall.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Devaraj M, Librarian and NDLI Club Coordinator. This was followed by the inaugural address by Dr. Aboo Ishaque P.K, Principal of WIRAS, who spoke about the profound loss of P. Jayachandran to the music community.
The felicitation session featured Dr. Akhil R (Vice Principal), Saheed V.K (Head of the Department of Chemistry), and Pradeepan R.C (Literary Club Coordinator), all of whom shared their experiences and sang songs as a tribute to P. Jayachandran’s musical legacy.
Anand T.T from the Department of Chemistry reflected on his cherished memories associated with Jayachandran’s songs, while Sajesh K from the Department of Physical Education paid tribute by performing one of the singer’s iconic songs. The session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who actively engaged in discussions and performances, making the event a heartfelt tribute to the legendary artist.
